Dog Bracing

Dog Bracing

“Dog is a humans’ best friend,” this is a phrase we’ve all heard before. A pet is one of the best companions, they love you unconditionally. It’s extremely difficult to see them in pain or suffer an injury. Knee injuries in dogs are the most common type of orthopedic injuries, especially cruciate tears. Surgery can be quite costly and the risk for re-injury is quite high. Dog bracing is one of the more conservative options to help get your dog back to running and jumping with minimal issues. Prior to booking an appointment with us, it’s important to discuss options with your vet as they are experts in your pet’s overall health.

Here is how our dog bracing works!

We first book a free consult to ensure that your dog is a good candidate for knee bracing. If all your questions are met and you wish to proceed with the brace, we can cast your dog’s knee at that appointment. Casting your pet is safe but can cause some stress to your dog. We suggest bringing some treats to your appointment or speaking to your vet to see if there is anything, they can prescribe to help keep the appointment as enjoyable for your dog as possible. Once we have taken the cast it takes us roughly two weeks to make the brace. Our braces are made at our facility and you can choose from a variety of color options.

Cost and Warranty

We offer a free consultation to see if knee bracing will work for your dog. The cost of the knee brace is $1,000.00. Payment is due at the fitting appointment but if you require a payment plan, please talk to the clinician. The $1,000.00 fee includes all the appointments before and after you receive the brace and includes a 3-month warranty. The straps do wear out over time and we will charge for material and time to replace those when it is needed.
